Meet Your Captain
Captain Robert Braley is a seasoned fishing guide with over four decades of experience on Lake Michigan. A true local, he has been fishing the lake since 1980, honing his skills and knowledge of the area’s waters. Before becoming a charter captain, Captain Robert spent 12 years working as a commercial fisherman, running a shrimping boat out of Corpus Christi, Texas. This background gave him a deep understanding of various fishing techniques and marine life, which he now applies to his Lake Michigan fishing charters. In 1991, he transitioned into the charter fishing industry, purchasing his own boat just a few years later.
Captain Robert’s dedication to the sport is evident in his active participation in local fishing tournaments, where he consistently demonstrates his expertise in landing some of the lake's most prized fish. His wealth of experience makes him an ideal guide for anglers of all skill levels, whether they’re looking to catch trophy-sized Salmon, Trout, or Steelhead. As the owner and operator of Maykin Baykin Charters, Captain Robert combines his passion for fishing with a commitment to providing an exceptional, personalized experience on Lake Michigan.
Captain Robert Braley specializes in trolling techniques on Lake Michigan, a method that allows anglers to cover large areas of water while targeting a variety of fish species.
